A straight fell needs a clear drop zone at least the height of the tree, with no valuable targets in the line of fall. That's rare in suburban Amersham gardens. Section dismantling brings the tree down piece by piece — usually starting with the top few metres, then working down the main stem, using ropes and rigging equipment (lowering devices, friction brakes, pulleys) to control each piece down to the ground crew.
